The wait for EPO badges for representatives is over

In a <a href=“https://www.epo.org/law-practice/legal-texts/official-journal/2021/10/a79.html”target=“_blank“>notice from the EPO dated 22 October 2021 the EPO announced that it is now possible to obtain EPO badges for professional representatives by a pre-arranged video call.

During the call the professional representative will need to show their passport or national ID card. The badge will then be produced and sent by mail to them. Details can be found by following the above link.

Previously the only way for professional representatives to collect their EPO badge was in person, and so there is a large backlog as a result of many representatives not being able to travel to the EPO.
