European Inventor Award 2020 - Call for Nominations

Once again the 2019 edition of the European Inventor Award has put a spotlight on innovation and the patent system. The documentary about the 2019 event captures the inspiring atmosphere of this celebration of innovation, as well as the public and media interest from around the world. Media coverage of the European Inventor Award continues to grow year on year, with more than 2,200 reports in journals, blogs, websites and TV shows around the world. As all finalists benefit from European patent protection, this prestigious Award tells the stories of successful inventors and the European patent system, and it shows the public how the granting of patent rights has helped them along the way, to raise investment and create jobs.
The European Inventor Award is given annually to the inventors of patents granted by the EPO. Out of many nominations, 15 finalists are selected across five categories. The Award pays tribute to the creativity of inventors to make a real contribution to technological progress and economic growth and so improve people’s daily lives. The Award achieves huge media coverage.
The EPO has already opened nominations for the European Inventor Award 2020.
