epi contribution to the EPO video on the Strategic Plan 2023

The Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation unanimously adopted yesterday the EPO’s Strategic Plan (SP2023) for the period 2019-2023.
The presentation of the plan is supported by a short video that includes a contribution of epi.
The video lasts 6’30. Michael Fleuchaus, Chairman of the ICT Group of our EPPC, intervenes from 2’41 to 3’17 on Goal 3 of the Strategic Plan, “Deliver high-quality products and services efficiently”:
The EPO has made great advances in the timeliness of search reports in recent years, with average times for examination and opposition falling too. The European patent attorney profession would welcome further improvements of quality of the EPO’s products and services. We have our own role to play in the quality of granted patents, and we look forward to continuing our constructive dialogue with the Office about all aspects of pre-grant patent processing and opposition proceedings. The European patent attorney profession firmly believes that the quality of European patents supports innovation and thus benefits economy and society.
