The ICT group of EPPC met on 8 November 2017 the EPO directors in ICT field, and various matters pertaining to issues on eligibility and patentability of ICT applications have been collaboratively discussed.

epi wishes to warmly congratulate Mr António Campinos with his election by the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation as the new President of the European Patent Office from 1st July 2018.

On 26 September 2017 there was a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the EPO Academy, where the activities and future plans of the Academy were discussed. The EPO Academy is a highly respected partner of epi in the field of educating our profession.
Tony Tangena, our immediate past president, attended this meeting on behalf of epi as an observer.

The safeguarding of staff, visitors and business is of paramount importance to the EPO.
From early October 2017, the EPO will introduce new industry-standard, enhanced security badges for staff and visitors.
