epi President Tony Tangena Speaker at EPO-SIPO Symposium

On 9 October 2015, epi President Tony Tangena attended a symposium in Lyon on the occasion of 30 years cooperation between the EPO and SIPO, China’s State Intellectual Property Office.
Tony Tangena spoke about the importance of patents and other forms of IP in China. In this regard, he stressed the relevance of the cooperation between the EU and China, being major trade partners. President Tangena concluded his talk with a wish list, focussing on three elements: high quality patents, predictability and harmonisation.
