EPO fees will increase as of 1st April 2024

The Administrative Council (AC) of the European Patent Organisation decided, in their meeting on 14 December 2023, to revise the Rules relating to Fees with effect as of 1st April 2024.

While most fees will increase on average by 3 to 5%, a more substantial increase has been decided for the 3rd renewal fee (from 530 to 690 euros) and the 4th renewal fee (from 660 to 845 euros). The amount of the opposition and appeal fees will remain unchanged.

The new amounts of the fees will apply to all payments made on or after 1st April 2024.
