Yesterday, the Enlarged Board of Appeal answered the questions referred to it by Technical Board of Appeal 3.3.01 in case T 0318/14 (“Double patenting”).

Last week, on 10th June 2021, the lower house of the German Parliament (Bundestag) approved a law which will allow European Patent Attorneys working in private practice to professionally and economically associate with nationally qualified patent attorneys and attorneys-at-law in Germany to exercise their free profession.

The European Inventor Award will take place on 17 June 2021 at 19:00 CEST.

For the first time in the history of the event, the ceremony will be entirely digital and will be broadcasted live around the globe.

In the wake of oral proceedings in case G1/21, the President of the EPO has announced (see here) that the pilot project for oral proceedings by videoconference before opposition divisions, initially set to run until 14 September 2021, is further extended to run until 31 January 2022.
