Entry into force of UPC Agreement postponed till 1 June 2023

The Administrative Committee of the UPC has decided to postpone the start of the sunrise period by 2 months from originally planned 1 January 2023 to now 1 March 2023.

epi provides Forum for sharing UPC CMS experiences and solutions

All users, including European Patent Attorneys, are preparing for the arrival of the new Unitary Patent (UP) / Unified Patent Court (UPC) system, which is expected to start early next year.
The UPC will be a fully digitalized court and will therefore communicate with its users only via its electronic Case Management System (CMS).

epi would therefore like to offer a platform to its members for sharing information and tips related to how to obtain access to the UPC Case Management System using the strong authentication system.

Seminar: Unitary Patent and Unified Patent Court in Munich

Don’t miss the opportunity to meet our epi experts together with an EPO expert to gain knowledge of unitary patent protection and the Unified Patent Court (UPC) to allow epi members to work with the new system and to advise clients on strategic choices, for example on whether to request unitary effect for their European patents, or when and whether to opt their non-unitary European patents out of the UPC.

Election to Council 2023 - end of nomination phase and re-opening of nomination for selected constituencies.

In early 2023, the Council of the Institute shall be elected. The nomination phase is over, and the list of all validly nominated candidates is published on the epi website.

The deadline for corrections to the list is 12 December 2022.
